Next at the Aspen Institute: February 2013

February 4, 2013

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it’s turning out to be one of the busiest at the Aspen Institute. Here is a taste of what we have coming up and some great opportunties to engage with the Institute.

Democratizing Arts: How are the arts, arts education, and creativity best supported in 21st century America? Charles Best from DonorsChoose.org and Yancey Strickler from Kickstarter join us at the Roosevelt House in New York on February 5 to discuss where and how far into the future crowdfunding can take us.

LIVE @ The Aspen Institute: Want to make some appointment viewing for engaging conversations over lunch? Check out our schedule of upcoming live streams including those featuring a book talk with General Stanley McChrystal (February 8), a discussion on the role of culture and conflict (February 11), and more.

The Aspen Challenge: This month, the Aspen Challenge launches in Los Angeles, where high school students will compete to design solutions to various issues facing society (February 22-23).

Joe Papp in Five Acts: The Shakespeare Theatre Company and the Aspen Institute Arts Program team up for the DC premiere of the film on February 26.

Socrates Program: With a full slate for the Winter and Teen Scorates in Aspen, and a salon in LA this month, check back here the week of February 19 to register for this summer’s seminars.

As always, you can keep up with our most recent happenings here on the blog or on Twitter @AspenInstitute or Facebook at /AspenInstitute.
