Shining a Spotlight on Inspirational Stories from Indian Country

December 18, 2012  • Josie Raphaelito

The Center for Native American Youth‘s Champions for Change (CFC) program, a spinoff of a White House initiative, recognizes and encourages inspirational Native youth (ages 14 to 24) working in their tribal or urban Indian communities to promote hope and make a positive impact. Five finalists will be selected and recognized at a spring 2013 event in Washington, DC and also invited to serve a two-year term on the Center’s Youth Advisory Board.

Watch this short video featuring the inspiring story of a previous ‘Champion of Change’ and how this program changed her life. Also featured are Center Chairman Sen. Byron Dorgan and board member Patty Talahongva on why it is crucial for Native youth to get involved.
