2013 is the United Nations International Year of Water Cooperation. Over the next few weeks, we will look at issues related to water, a valuable
resource that connects us all.
Last year, the Institute hosted the series “7 Billion Conversations That Matter” to discuss the challenges and opportunities that arise from Earth’s population level. As part of the series, Salva Dut, founder and president of Water for South Sudan and a former “lost boy” of Sudan, visited Washington, DC to discuss a recent book written about him, A Long Walk to Water.
Shewaye Deribe, project coordinator at Ethio-Wetlands and Natural Resources Association and Jaehyang So, manager of the Water and Sanitation Program at the World Bank jointed Dut in the conversation moderated by Peggy Clark, executive director of Aspen Global Health and Development and vice president of policy programs at The Aspen Institute.
