On November 3, 2011, the Aspen Institute hosted the 28th Annual Awards Dinner at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. The dinner once again was generously chaired by Mr. and Mrs. Sid R. Bass. The honorees for the 2011 Annual Awards Dinner are:
- Henry Crown Leadership Award: Madeleine Albright, former Secretary of State and Aspen Institute trustee
- Aspen Institute Public Leadership Award: Cory Booker, Mayor of Newark; Kaya Henderson, Chancellor of the DC Public School System; and Joel Klein, former Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education
Madeleine Albright also announced the 2011 winner of the John P. McNulty Prize, given each year to an extraordinary young leader from the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
