By reinventing the experience of leisure, can public spaces have increased civic relevance and make an impact in the realms of politics and diplomacy? Diller Scofidio + Renfro Founding Principal Elizabeth Diller joins Arts Program Director Damian Woetzel to discuss her recent and ongoing projects – including the Hirshhorn Museum “Bubble” scheduled to open in late 2013 – and the responsibility of creative structures to address social needs. This conversation is part of the 2013 Washington Ideas Roundtable Series, and is a continuation of dialogues begun at 2012 Aspen Ideas Festival.
