Society of Fellows Luncheon: The New Frontier: Mindfulness and the Brain

The Obama Administration has pledged $100M toward unlocking secrets of the human brain. And contemporary neuroscience is shedding new light on the ancient discipline of mindfulness, meditation, and prayer. How do the frontiers of neuroscience help us understand meditative practices? What might be the implications of meditative practice for thinking about the mind-body relationship, our capacities for leadership, our powers of concentration, and our conception of happiness? This luncheon will explore these question and more, drawing upon the latest research in neuroscience.

Featuring Amishi Jha, Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of Contemplative Neuroscience, Mindfulness Research & Practice Initiative, University of Miami. This event is exclusively offered to Society of Fellows supporters.
