Society of Fellows Discussion Reception: A Collector’s Journey

Leonard A. Lauder, Chairman Emeritus, the Aspen Institute, and Chairman Emeritus, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.

This evening’s talk will feature Leonard A. Lauder. The topic for tonight, “A Collector’s Journey” will highlight Mr. Lauder’s decisions regarding his art collections and whether they are better in public or private hands. As an avid supporter of several museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Mr. Lauder donated his Cubist collection to the Met in April 2013. Lauder’s philanthropy extends to his co-founding the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation and being a member of the President’s Council of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital. This talk offers SOF members a chance to engage with one of America’s major art collectors and better understand the conservation of art.

Mr. Lauder’s talk in Paepcke Auditorium is open to the public. Reception following is open only to the Society of Fellows.

Society of Fellows and Aspen Community Donors may reserve complimentary tickets to this event. Please RSVP to sof@aspeninst.org or 970-544-7980.

Fee for public tickets: $20. Tickets at www.aspenshowtix.com
