23rd Annual Summer Celebration Dinner

The Aspen Institute is recognizing Howard Schultz, Chairman and CEO of Starbucks, and Sheri Schultz, Co-Founder of the Schultz Family Foundation, with its 2016 Public Service Award. The Schultzes, and their philanthropic work to connect veterans and youth with job opportunities and resources, will be honored at the 23rd Annual Summer Celebration Gala on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the Institute’s Aspen Meadows campus in Aspen, Colorado.

The annual benefit will begin with a public conversation featuring the Schultzes, to be moderated by Aspen Institute President and CEO Walter Isaacson, followed by a reception and dinner. The conversation portion of the evening entitled “Values Based Leadership: The Relationship between Philanthropy and the Private Sector,” will highlight the philanthropic work of both Starbucks and the Schultz Family Foundation, including the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative, a coalition of leading US companies committed to engaging 100,000 young people in jobs, internships, and apprenticeships by 2018. Plus a special appearance by Academy and Grammy Award-winning musician and artist Common.

If you have questions about this event or would like to purchase benefit tickets, please contact Natasha Little at natasha.little@aspeninstitute.org or 1-800-410-3463.

Tickets to the public conversation only ($25) will be available for purchase at www.aspenshowtix.com  (970) 920-5770, or in person at the Wheeler Opera House.
