Alice Henkin is an attorney working on international human rights law; she has been with the Justice and Society Program since 1977. The Justice & Society Program convenes leaders from several disciplines and professions to help shape US policies regarding human rights, international law, transitional justice, and multilateral peacekeeping field operations. Previously, Alice chaired the Association of the Bar of the City of New York Committee on International Human Rights, and is a former vice president of the Association. She has written extensively on human rights, transitional justice, and human rights and multilateral peacekeeping. A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Alice is also a board member of Human Rights Watch, where she serves as vice chair of the Europe and Central Asia division, and as a member of the Childrens Rights and Africa division advisory committees.
