Melissa Ingber is the Director of Socrates Society, a forum bringing emerging leaders together to explore contemporary issues through expert-moderated dialogue. Socrates also provides the opportunity for participants to enter into a diverse professional network and into the broader range of Aspen Institute programs.
Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Melissa worked at the World Bank specializing in private sector development and finance for Africa. She has also worked on emerging markets with Deutsche Bank, the Soros Foundation's Open Society Institute, and A.T. Kearney in Washington, DC, New York, London, Prague and Moscow. She has held government positions at the U.S. Institute of Peace and as a senior adviser at the Department of State. A New Orleans native, Melissa is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, and has graduate degrees in international affairs from Columbia University and Central European University. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, daughter, and son.
