Melissa Ingber is Director of the Aspen Institute's Socrates Program and Deputy Director of International Partners. Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Melissa worked at the World Bank specializing in private sector development and finance for Africa. She has also worked in emerging markets with Deutsche Bank, the Soros Foundation's Open Society Institute, and A.T. Kearney and has lived in Washington, DC, New York, London, Prague and Moscow. She has held government positions as a senior adviser at the Department of State and at the U.S. Institute of Peace. A New Orleans native, Melissa is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, and has graduate degrees in international affairs from Columbia University and Central European University. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and three children.
