2011 ANDE Annual Conference
The 2011 ANDE Annual Conference was held October 3-5th at The Hotel at Turf Valley in Ellicott City, Maryland. As with previous conferences, this gathering was highly interactive and practically focused. The agenda featured roundtable workshops focused on solutions to common challenges, structured and unstructured networking sessions, and participatory plenary sessions with leading thinkers in the entrepreneurship space.

Annual conferences are designed to deliver the following value to ANDE members:
- Build stronger relationships and promote collaboration among ANDE Members
- Provide a forum for developing solutions to common challenges
- Foster the development of ANDE regional organizations
- Enable members to realize new funding and investment opportunities
- Shape ANDE priorities for the following year

- ANDE State of the Sector Reaction: Matthew Bishop (The Economist), Mildred Callear (SEAF), Maria Cavalcanti (Fundacion AVINA), and Ricardo Teran (Agora Partnerships) responded to the current analysis of the sector, giving their thoughts on what it means on the ground.
- Incorporating SGBs into the Corporate Value Chain: Simon Winter (TechnoServe, Inc.), Sheetal Bhadekar (DSM North America), Jeff Dykstra (Partners in Food Solutions), and Bridgit Evans (GreaterGood Group) discussed the emergence of the concept of "shared value" and the potential that remains for integrating small enterprises into the corporate value chains.
- Evening Keynote: Matthew Bishop - American business editor of The Economist and author of Philanthrocapitalism - interviewed Paul Polak, author of Out of Poverty, in what was a witty and entertaining conversation.
