On September 13, the Aspen Institute announced the 10 finalists for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.  Since then, teams of experienced researchers and practitioners have been conducting 2-day site visits to each of the ten finalist institutions to collect additional data through interviews with leadership, staff, faculty, students, and community partners.  On December 12th, a Prize Jury of former elected officials and other prominent national business, labor, education and civil rights leaders will name one institution as the winner of the inaugural Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, with up to three runners-up sharing in the $1 million Prize purse.
