Biography

Carla Anne Robbins joined the editorial board of The New York Times in July 2006 and became deputy editor in January 2007. Dr. Robbins was previously the Chief Diplomatic Correspondent at The Wall Street Journal and Latin America Bureau Chief for U.S. News & World Report, and a reporter for Business Week. She was awarded Georgetown University’s 2003 Edward Weintal Prize for diplomatic coverage. She also shared in two Pulitzer prizes and other prizes at the Journal, and is a winner of an Overseas Press Club award. Dr. Robbins is a graduate of Wellesley College and holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard. She is a member of the Aspen Strategy Group.
