Biography

Stephen Friedman currently serves as Chairman of Stone Point Capital, LLC, which manages private equity funds investing in financial services businesses. He is a retired Chairman of Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Friedman is former Chairman of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board and of the Intelligence Oversight Board. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. From December 2002 to December 2004, he served as Assistant to President George W. Bush for Economic Policy and Director of the National Economic Council. Mr. Friedman is currently a trustee of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Aspen Institute and a Director of the Council on Foreign Relations. Mr. Friedman received a B.A. from Cornell University in 1959 and an LL.B. from Columbia University Law School. He is a member of the Aspen Strategy Group.
