The Initiative on Smart Energy and Network Technologies (INSENT) is a collaboration between the Communications & Society Program and the Energy & Environment Program of the Aspen Institute. The Initiative embraces the information, communication and technology revolution to encourage a new vision for our nation’s energy sector.

The 2013 Roundtable titled, Developing a Smart Energy Network, will focus on collaborative and strategic policies that enable markets and technologies to create and serve a smarter energy network in the United States. The meeting will bring together experts from the ICT sector, energy sector, non-profit sector, investors, business executives and government officials to discuss the elements required for capital formation, public policy and specific applications. The dialogue will pay particular attention to the electrification of transportation, intelligent buildings and the reliable, economical delivery of high-quality, sustainable energy via a collection of new smart grid apps, services and products.

The Roundtable will take place May 15-17, 2013 at the Aspen Wye River Conference Center near Queenstown, Maryland. Participation is by invitation only.
