Eva Sage-Gavin

Eva Sage-Gavin is Executive Vice President, Global Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, Gap Inc. In her role as Chief People Officer, she sets the strategy for the company's human resources, communications, government and public affairs, foundation, as well as social and environmental responsibility for 132,000 employees worldwide. Gap Inc.'s fiscal year 2011 net sales were $14.5 billion with products available for purchase in more than 90 countries worldwide through about 3,100 stores, about 200 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites.
Sage-Gavin joined Gap Inc. in 2003. Previously, she worked at Sun Microsystems and Disney Consumer Products as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. In addition, she has served in various senior human resources leadership positions for The PepsiCo Corporation, including its Taco Bell division, and for Xerox Corporation.
Sage-Gavin is active in national education and workforce development initiatives. She is a member of the Skills for America's Future Advisory Board, working with the White House, Aspen Institute, community colleges and corporations to build skilled workforces. She is a member of the HR Policy Association board and chairs its Workforce Development committee.
In 2005, HR Executive magazine recognized Sage-Gavin as one of the 25 most influential and prominent women leading Human Resource organizations. In 2006, she received the distinguished honor of Fellow from the National Academy of Human Resources in recognition of her life-long professional achievements in the field of Human Resources. She is author of a chapter in "The Chief HR Officer: Defining the New Role of Human Resource Leaders," published in 2011. In 2012, Cornell University honored her with the prestigious Groat Award for her professional accomplishments and outstanding service to the College of Industrial and Labor Relations.
Sage-Gavin serves on the Cornell Center for Advanced Human Resources Studies Board, the President's Council of Cornell Women, and the University of Southern California's Center for Effective Organizations. She serves as a Cornell Silicon Valley Advisor, is a life member of the Cornell University Council, and is a guest lecturer at Stanford, USC and Cornell.
Sage-Gavin holds a bachelor's degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.
