Initiative on Financial Security

About Aspen IFS

The Aspen Institute Initiative on Financial Security (Aspen IFS) is a leading policy program dedicated to helping bring about the policies and financial products that enable all Americans to save, invest, and own.

What We Believe

• The opportunity to save, invest and own is the foundation of the American dream.
• Saving needs - to obtain an education, to buy a home, to build a business, to assure a secure retirement – change over the life cycle.
• Saving products should be relevant to different life goals, well-designed, widely-available, delivered through the private sector.
• The government must help all Americans save with a meaningful incentive system that rewards and simplifies saving.
• A comprehensive national savings policy can spark entrepreneurship, increase national productivity and help Americans at all income levels succeed.

How We Make A Difference

  • Bipartisan Leadership: We lead a bi-partisan team of top business executives, financial and policy experts, elected officials and community leaders to create market-based strategies to promote lifelong savings and financial success.
  • Pragmatic Approach: We combine real-world business analysis with public policy ideas to strengthen the economy and help families achieve the American dream.
