Drawing upon its reputation as the premier, non-partisan convener of opinion leaders, in 2011 the Aspen Institute and its partners hosted two exceptional “Voices from Main Street” regional meetings, the first in Indianapolis, IN and the second in Raleigh, NC, and one Washington DC event.  In 2012, Aspen plans to host three other regionals, as well as a Washington, DC event highlighting the lessons learned from the regionals.  We wish to bring back successful models that work from each region, in hopes we can utilize these messages to help solve our nation’s broken health care system.  Each of these regional conferences will explore local models that work in such areas as: Innovation and the Economy; Health, Wellness and Prevention; Diffusion of Innovation; Access to Health Information; Consumer Engagement and Cost Containment and the issues surrounding the Prescription Drug User Fee Act reauthorization.
