Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation (PSI)

Philanthropy Strategy and Values Seminar

The Philanthropy Strategy and Values Seminar is a collaboration with the Global Philanthropy Forum and is open to principals of family foundations, individual philanthropists and CEOs of private and corporate foundations seeking a meaningful and substantive exploration of philanthropic values and effective strategies. With a curriculum steeped in values and customized to the needs and interests of the participants themselves, the seminar provides an experience unlike any other educational program.

The Seminar is geared to philanthropists wishing to:

  • Explore the underlying values that make philanthropy meaningful and rewarding;
  • Craft or refine a philanthropic mission and strategy;
  • Design a new, more creative or strategic giving program;
  • Assess structural issues related to perpetuity, spend-down, and “next-generation” issues;
  • Improve philanthropic  effectiveness and impact through case studies and other useful examples; and
  • Connect, share and learn with family members and/or philanthropic peers.

The Seminar includes classic and modern readings and an interactive, peer-learning approach that transforms thinking.  Through the careful design of the seminar, participants develop a greater self-awareness, a refined philanthropic vision, practical strategies for achieving results, and supportive relationships with fellow philanthropists.

Date of the next Philanthropy Seminar TBD.
