Issacson Opens Summer Luncheon Series
SOF Luncheon Friday, June 27, 2008
Walter Issacson, President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, and Margot Pritzker, Institute Trustee, will be the featured speakers at the first Society of Fellows luncheon this summer. Open to Fellows only, this luncheon will be held in the Doerr-Hosier Center in Aspen; Friday June 27, 12:30-2:00 P.M.

Socrates Fund Benefit Dinner
June 28, 6:00 P.M.
CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer will be the featured guest at a dinner to benefit the Socrates Society Scholarship Fund. Blitzer is CNN's lead anchor for the network's political coverage running up to the 2008 elections; he will be interviewed by Walter Isaacson as they discuss "Campaign 2008: The Road to The White House." The Meaning of Music
SOF Summer Symposium June 24-26, 2008
Alan Fletcher, President and CEO of The Aspen Music Festival and School (left) and veteran Aspen Institute moderator, Bill Cathers, team up once again to lead participants through an exciting journey of listening, thinking and discussion concerning the unique language we call music. This multi-media symposium will feature various genres of music, readings from composers and other experts, along with a collaborative search for the meaning of music from its basic elements to that mysterious region of significance which lies "beyond the nameable." "Neocons in Today’s World"
Donors’ Dinner Discussion, Wednesday, June 18
Intellectual guru of the neo-conservatives ("neo-cons"), Richard Perle was Chairman of the Defense Policy Board when the US invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. He had been Reagan's assistant secretary of defense and is subject of the recent biography by Alan Weisman -- Prince of Darkness: Richard Perle.
