The Council of Women World Leaders is proud to announce the placement of two Fellows in its offices at the Aspen Institute for the summer.
Katy Quissell comes to the Council from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University with an educational background that focuses on the social, political and economic antecedents to health outcomes. She is also interested in advancing gender equity in the areas of health and economic development and building her leadership skills to have an impact in the area of women's rights and development. The CWWL Fellowship Program at Columbia University is funded through a grant from the Office of the President of the University.
Cheryl Baum comes to the Council from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University with a particular interest in the intersection of economic development and gender mainstreaming and intends to pursue a career in economic development policy with a specific focus on improving the livelihoods of women. Prior to attending the Kennedy School, Cheryl worked for four years at NERA Economic Consulting. The CWWL Fellowship Program at the Kennedy School is funded by a grant from the Women's Leadership Board at the School.
Both Katy and Cheryl will be working with the Council to further research, develop and implement programs focusing on international women’s health issues, girls’ education and universal access to education and women’s international leadership.
