Wye Presidents' Seminar
July 24-27, 2008
The Aspen Institute and the Association of American Colleges and Universities will be sponsoring the Wye Presidents' Seminar. This seminar is by invitation only to a select number of college presidents. The program is being offered July 24-27, 2008 at Aspen's Wye River center in Queenstown, Maryland.
This seminar, now in its second year, assists presidents from colleges and universities in relating their leadership challenges to global economic and political questions. This summer's seminar will combine stimulating classical and contemporary readings to explore and discuss the implications of fundamental values such as liberty, justice, and democracy as international drivers of change. Focusing on the Middle East, readings will include selections from the Koran, Samuel P. Huntington, Bernard Lewis, Edward Said, and Salman Rushdie. Participants will combine vigorous seminars with time to read, reflect, exercise, and socialize on the beautiful Aspen Wye campus.
The cost of this program for three days and nights is $3000 including meals, lodging, and reading materials which are sent out six weeks prior to the seminar. I hope you will accept this invitation to join me in the Wye Presidents' Seminar in 2008. For more information contact Charlene Costello, 410-820-5374 or charlene.costello@aspeninstitute.org.
