Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs

Welcome

We are pleased that you will be joining us for the third annual summer conference of the Aspen Network for Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) to be held July 21st to July 24th at the Aspen Institute’s Colorado campus.

The Aspen Network for Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) is a group of global leaders who believe that catalyzing healthy economic growth through small and growing businesses is critical for effective development. We provide capital, talent and technical support to help emerging businesses gain access to the resources they need to get on the radar of the local commercial markets and fly on their own. However, both our individual work and past conference learnings evidence that there is a need for collective action to address the capital, talent and information gaps if for the sector to scale and achieve broader impact.

In our view, this event has the extraordinary potential to create a powerful community that in the coming years can help solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

We look forward to working together over the three days,

Conference Objectives

  • Understand the different approaches and models for supporting ‘small and growing businesses’ and explore common challenges and opportunities to bring the sector to scale
  • Identify collaboration opportunities and agree on specific actions to promote the advancement of community as a whole across metrics, capital, talent and market access
  • Review and agree upon a business plan for ANDE and secure commitments to launch and sustain the organization into the future

Conference Logistics

  • Logistics memo
  • Conference agenda
  • Registration form
  • Participant bios
  • ATTIRE: Aspen has a very informal atmosphere.  Dress is informal for the conference sessions and evening activities.  Slacks, jeans, and “whatever is most comfortable” is appropriate. Aspen’s summer weather is nice but can be unpredictable. Be prepared for cold rainy days, and beautiful, hot, sunny days. At this altitude (8,000 feet), the sun is very bright and you will need sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. It is considerably colder in the evenings with temperatures dropping to 50 degrees and below, so a warm jacket should also be brought along.
