Society of Fellows is off to a strong start this year. The February symposium on Religion was a great success. There are a few spaces left in the March symposium on Europe detailed below as well as for the Day in DC Event in April. For anyone

Our March symposium, focused on the European financial crisis and lead by Gillian Tett and Jeff Madrick, is just around the corner. There are limited remaining seats available and readings are ready for participants. More Information.


SOF Days in DC: Meet with Institute Policy & Leadership Program Directors
April 11-12, 2012, Washington, DC.
This new SOF offering, hosted by Walter Isaacson, has proven extremely popular with Fellows from around the country registering to attend. There is limited space remaining. More information.


2012 Aspen Ideas Festival is Almost Sold Out!
Session I: June 27-30, 2012 / Session II: June 30-July 3, 2012. There are a few remaining passes for the Aspen Ideas Festival. If you are planning to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. SOF donors at the President's Society level and higher are eligible to purchase a Patron Pass to attend both sessions. Upcoming Events in Washington, DC and New York, NY
In addition to the SOF Days in DC noted above, there will be a Gildenhorn Book Series event with David Agus, author of The End of Illness,
moderated by Walter Isaacson on March 26 in DC. See Washington, DC events for more information. In New York a book event featuring Vijay Vaitheeswaran, China Business & Finance Editor for The Economist, will be held on March 13. The New York Ideas Forum, schedule for April 17th, will explore election-year questions and the American identity. See New York, NY events for more details and other events.


2012 Aspen Security Forum
July 25-28, 2012. Confirmed speakers to date for the Forum include: Commander of US Special Operations Command William McRaven; NSA Director Keith Alexander; former Secretary of DHS Michael Chertoff; Special Envoy for Af-Pak Ambassador Marc Grossman; TSA Administrator John Pistole; NCTC Director Matthew Olsen; former National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley; and former CIA Director Michael Hayden. This year s forum will also feature a screening and discussion of the hit Showtime series  Homeland with the show s producers. 2012 Aspen Environment Forum
June 22-25, 2012. The Aspen Institute and National Geographic are again joining forces to gather a broad spectrum of key thought leaders for rich and engaging dialogue on the challenges of reconciling Earth s finite resources with its ability to sustain our expanding human needs. Provocative and lively discussions have covered early thinking including the Anthropocene: Age of Man and the implications that a population of 9 Billion by mid-century has on the carrying capacity of the Planet.
