Extraordinary Opportunity: Two Days in DC
Walter Isaacson invites all Society of Fellows to Washington DC to an informative, lively exploration of the Aspen Institute’s work: Policy Programs and Global Leadership Networks.

Since its founding in 1950, the Aspen Institute has utilized the “Aspen Method” of text-based, moderated seminars to explore values, leadership, and the good life. In 2004, Walter Isaacson launched a new strategic vision, building on these core values, expanding our subject-specific policy programs, international partnerships, and a global network of young leaders. Come learn more about our work, help us celebrate our successes, and enter the discussion for yourself.

Afternoon Session: Policy Programs
On April 11, Elliot Gerson will educate you on the Aspen Institute’s 32 Policy programs, which serve as nonpartisan forums for analysis, consensus building, and problem solving on a wide variety of today’s leading issues. You will take part in discussions of poverty and jobs; education reform; and trends in philanthropy. You will also learn about our international network of partners.

Special Dinner Program: SOF and Trustees at the Cosmos Club
Following the April 11 afternoon session, you will attend an extraordinary dinner at the Cosmos Club for Society of Fellows donors and Board of Trustees, in Washington for an Institute board meeting. You will enjoy a special program with former Congressman Dan Glickman, Director of the Congressional Policy Program, and Mickey Edwards, also a former Congressman and head of the Rodel Fellowship Program, together probing the absence of civility in Congress, and what might be done toward improvement.

Morning Session: The Global Leadership Network
On April 12, you will learn about the Aspen Global Leadership Network through Peter Reiling. The Aspen Global Leadership Network is a growing, worldwide community of entrepreneurial leaders from business, government and the nonprofit sector – currently 1,400 "Fellows" from 43 countries – who share a commitment to enlightened leadership and to using their extraordinary creativity, energy and resources to tackle the foremost societal challenges of our times.
