THE NEED.
Financier Bob Litterman has observed, "When risks are not priced appropriately, investment behaviour creates the potential for the catastrophic – and unnecessary – future loss of society's well-being."
Imagine a capital market in which leaders act for the common good, even when pressures dictate otherwise. Where the risk-reward calculation considers the long-term costs and benefits to the communities and social fabric on which the markets depend — for skills, for savings, and for critical infrastructure.
THE SOLUTION.
The Aspen Institute Business and Society Program is designing a fellowship program to attract and influence the next generation of leaders of the financial industry. Based on the Henry Crown Fellowship and First Movers Fellowship programs, Aspen will target talent with the potential to rise to the leadership of global banks, asset managers, pensions, and private equity institutions. Our goal is to build dialogue about, and appreciation for, the values and protocols that are critical to successful, long-term functioning of capital markets in the U.S. and globally.
SUCCESS STORIES.
A Leadership Council of industry executives will advise the Aspen Future Financial Leaders Fellowship. Fellows will be nominated and supported by their company, but scholarships will help to ensure geographic and organizational diversity and will underwrite the program design, recruitment, and start-up costs borne by the Institute. Your financial support will ensure that this new Fellowship offering achieves the stature and success that is critical in order to influence the next generation of talent on Wall Street and beyond.
