On October 17 the Aspen Institute Communications and Society Program and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation will release the final in a series of eight white papers aimed at implementing the recommendations of the Knight Commission on the Information Needs of Communities in a Democracy. IDEA Chairman Reed Hundt speech gave a speech at the June 29, 2011 OECD High Level Meeting entitled "The Internet Economy: Generating Innovation and Growth", in Paris, France. The aim of the High Level meeting was to reach a consensus on how best to ensure the continued growth and innovation of the Internet economy.
In her address to the OECD High Level Meeting on the Internet Economy, European Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes referenced the Aspen Institute IDEA project as one of the key forums which seeks to define "principles" for the Internet.
