Earlier this week, former US Senator Byron Dorgan and the Aspen Institute celebrated the one year anniversary of the Center for Native American Youth. The March 6 reception, held in conjunction with the National Congress of American Indians’ conference, was attended by more than 200 tribal leaders, Indian advocates, members of Congress, and the Administration.
Indian Country Today Media Network sat down with the Center's Founder and Chairman, Senator Byron Dorgan, to learn more about the Center for Native American Youth. Senator Dorgan shared his thoughts about the future of the Center's program, his communication with Native youth, and other current Native American health initiatives.
The Center for Native American Youth is dedicated to improving the health, safety and overall well-being of Native American youth through communication, policy development and advocacy. The Center, founded by former US Senator Byron Dorgan, is a policy program within The Aspen Institute, headquartered in Washington, DC.
