Eating locally encourages freshness, taste, support of local growers and, in some cases, reduced fossil-fuel consumption. But not every community has farmers’ markets, co-ops, or farm-share programs. What problems do we solve by eating locally? And, what happens to community and agricultural well-being in areas without these choices?
