Peter Wallison: “Improving the U.S. Housing Market”

'Arthur F. Burns Fellow in Financial Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute Peter Wallison served as General Counsel to the U.S. Department of the Treasury and as White House Counsel during the Reagan Administration. He was among the first to warn that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would eventually cost taxpayers billions. Appointed by members of Congress to the federal Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, his dissent from the Commission’s report on the causes of the 2008 financial crisis has received widespread attention.
