Coming Soon to the Hirshhorn, with Melissa Chiu

October 23, 2014  • Arts Program

Melissa Chiu  assumed leadership of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in the fall after serving as director of Asia Society New York and that organization’s senior vice president of global arts and cultural programs.

Hailed as “one of the museum world’s rising stars,” Chiu came to the Hirshhorn after a difficult transition year for the museum. She spoke with Pulitzer Prize–winning critic from the Washington Post Philip Kennicott shortly after starting about the kind of future we could anticipate for one of the country’s greatest repositories of modern and contemporary art.

The Washington Ideas Roundtable Series is made possible with the generous support of Michelle Smith and the Robert H. Smith Family Foundation.
