Unrest in the Arab World and its Implications for Our Security

July 20, 2013

It’s summer again, but the winds of change, initially known as the Arab Spring, have turned chilly. The civil war in Syria gets bloodier by the day, and the blood is now flowing across borders, drawing in one country and group after another. Egypt is in turmoil. There is unrest in Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, and Bahrain. And, for all of Secretary Kerry’s commendable efforts to date, the Arab-Israeli peace process remains a “peace process” in name only. This panel will assess the state of affairs in this vital region and opine on its implications for our security here at home.
