Kathryn Stockett is the author of the blockbuster novel, The Help. This #1 New York Times bestseller received ringing accolades, including USA Today’s praise as “one of the best debut novels of the year." The Help has remained on the bestseller lists for two-plus years (and counting), and this spring it was made into a feature film, starring Emma Stone and Viola Davis, which rocketed to the top of the box office. Stockett was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, where the story of The Help was based. After graduating from the University of Alabama with a degree in English and Creative Writing, she moved to New York City where she worked in magazine publishing and marketing for nine years. She currently resides in Atlanta.
