As C.P. Cavafy wrote in his poem, The City, “You won’t find a new country, won’t find another shore./This city will always pursue you.” Regardless of where you settle in adulthood, or regardless of if you ever settle, parts of the world that shape our lives and identities remain with us. What places have shaped who you’ve become? How do you carry a city, or cities, with you throughout your life? What does it feel like to grow too tall for a place, and to continue looking upward and outward – elsewhere?
