From July 25 – 28, the 2018 convening will focus on Fearless Leadership and the importance of values-based leadership in an ever changing and complicated world.
Aspen, CO, July 25, 2018 — The Aspen Institute is pleased to announce the 2018 Resnick Aspen Action Forum. Over 330 participants, including Aspen Global Leadership Network Fellows, other entrepreneurial leaders from Aspen Institute programs, partners, and invited participants, will gather in Aspen, Colorado from July 25 through July 28, 2018. The theme of this year’s Action Forum is “Fearless Leadership” and will focus on how leaders navigate in their roles during times of uncertainty, unrest, and upheaval.
The Action Forum gives some of the world’s most innovative leaders – most from business but many from government and civil society organizations – opportunities to learn from one another and to expand their impact by embracing diversity, sharing, and collaboration. The dialogues and workshops taking place over these four days are designed to inspire meaningful actions that will address critical social challenges in the more than 25 countries represented.
“For nearly 70 years, the Aspen Institute has convened leaders and challenged them to build a better society based on their values. That tradition carries on today, especially through the Resnick Aspen Action Forum,” said David Langstaff, interim executive vice president for leadership and seminars at the Aspen Institute. “Given the massive shifts affecting business, governments, and society, the need to explore courageous, fearless leadership has never been more timely or pressing.”
Each leader attending the Action Forum is asked to make an Action Pledge, a public commitment to address a pressing societal challenge. Since 2013, over 1,200 Action Pledges have been made.
