Annu Sood is Manager, Community and Labour Market with Toronto Employment & Social Services. She has had a successful 26 year career with the City of Toronto, and has extensive experience in managing human services, staff learning and development, project and contract management, access and equity and community service programs and policy. As the divisional sector lead for Hospitality and Tourism, she has developed strong partnerships and innovative sectoral responses to precarious employment. Annu ‘s passion and commitment to advancing poverty reduction and workforce development is clearly demonstrated in projects she has led leveraging her experience in developing place based initiatives and innovative solutions, increasing access to programs, services and employment opportunities. Having lived in India, Russia and Africa, Annu has global work experience and a rich understanding of diverse cultures. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and French and a Master’s degree in Russian Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, where she held the faculty position of Assistant professor. Passionate about giving back to the community, Annu currently volunteers with the Markham Stouffville Hospital’s Fundraising Committee.
Annu Sood is a member of the Toronto Sector Skills Academy, Class of 2018, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
