Belén is the Fall 2018 William Randolph Hearst Fellow for the Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation, where she provides research support for the team’s philanthropy and nonprofit work. Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Belén served as the Communications and Media Intern at Promundo-US, collecting resources on gender equality and violence prevention education to advance the nonprofit’s global media campaigns. She has also interned at Martinez Street Women’s Center, Editorial Projects in Education, the American University Center for Diversity and Inclusion, and The City of San Antonio, supporting community engagement, public policy development, and transformational justice work. Belén is a Senior at American University studying International Relations with an emphasis in Identity, Race, Gender and Cultural Studies.
