Cameron Jernigan

Coordinator for the AYLF Fellow Experience , Aspen Young Leaders Fellowship

Cameron Jernigan (he/him/his) serves as the Fellow Experience Coordinator for the Aspen Young Leaders Fellowship. In this role he supports AYLF program delivery, provides operational support for AYLF’s opportunity ecosystem of resources, and designs and implements engagement programming for our community of Fellows.

Hailing from rural North Carolina, Cameron was born and raised in Ahoskie, and largely attributes his love for and commitment to community to this upbringing. Prior to shifting to the nonprofit setting and joining The Aspen Institute, he completed a Master of Science in Higher Education at Florida State University. While at FSU, Cameron served as the advisor to the Eco-Reps program, a peer-to-peer sustainability education program within Florida State University’s Sustainable Campus. In addition, Cameron also gained opportunities to work in the areas of leadership learning and development, first-year success, and event planning. Forever a proud product of public schools, Cameron holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

A serial book buyer, a considerable amount of his free time is spent making his way through the mountains of books in his library. He also enjoys writing, hiking, binging docuseries, and listening to music.
