Carla Sofia Elizundia is a creative industry professional from Mexico City.

Carla Sofia Elizundia is a creative industry professional from Mexico City. She was instrumental in bringing together cross-sector stakeholders to apply for and obtain Mexico City’s designation as World Design Capital 2018, one of the highest recognitions to cities within the creative industries. Currently, Carla Sofia is Chief Operating Officer at Design Week Mexico, a non-profit committed to the use of design and creativity as tools to face urban and social challenges. There she leads strategic alliances between public, private and non-governmental sectors to forge a multidisciplinary collaborative platform for collaboration and idea sharing around design. Carla Sofia is passionate about the transformative power of design, and believes strengthening ties locally and within the global community will build better cities for all. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Instituto Nacional Autónomo de México (ITAM) and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Anáhuac University.
