Elena Bell serves as Program Manager for the Aspen Institute Center for Urban Innovation. The Center was created in 2015 to connect and support leaders from government, business, non-profits and philanthropy driving innovation and inclusion in America’s cities and metropolitan areas. Elena, who has been with the program since its launch, manages the Center’s operations: spearheading logistics for convenings and events, developing the Center’s communications initiatives, administering the Center’s budgets and contracts, and providing strategic planning and research support. Elena holds a BA in American Culture Studies and Organizational Behavior and Human Resources from Washington University in St. Louis. While in school, Elena authored a study examining the relationship between urban governance, concentrations of poverty, and disparities in education in two places she has called home, Houston, TX and St. Louis, MO. She now calls Washington, DC home.
