Emily Armstrong is Senior Project Coordinator of the Sports & Society Program. She is leading the program’s Project Play efforts in Southeast Michigan, Western New York, and Greater Rochester, where the Sports & Society Program is partnering with the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and community foundations to grow the quality and quantity of sport opportunities for youth. Emily’s work builds on the State of Play reports that the Sports & Society Program produced in each of those regions, and identifies opportunities that can lead to fundable programs by the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation.
Emily is a persistent advocate for youth programming through community activation. Before joining Aspen, she was involved in the physical and mental health fields, most recently with Active Minds as a program manager. Emily earned her B.A. in Sociology from Elon University. She is passionate about empowering diverse populations and using the power of physical activity to build the overall health of an individual.
In her spare time, Emily can be found hiking and enjoying the outdoors, or playing soccer in her rec league while based out of Washington D.C.
