Assistant Dean of Curriculum and Academic Assessment, Hudson County Community College, Jersey City, New Jersey

In her role as Assistant Dean of Curriculum and Academic Assessment at Hudson County Community College, Heather DeVries oversees the internal and external processes around curriculum approval and compliance. Prior to this, Ms. DeVries served as a lecturer in the English Division in which she taught composition and literature courses. Ms. DeVries is an active member on many of the College’s committees including the New Programs Task Force, Curriculum & Instruction, General Education, Assessment, the Guided Pathways Working Group, the Enrollment Management Council, Deans’ Council, and the President’s Executive Council. Most recently, Ms. DeVries has been serving as co-chair of HCCC’s Achieving the Dream Initiative. Ms. DeVries holds a BA in English and psychology from Fairfield University, a MA in English from Fordham University, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership at Caldwell University.

Heather DeVries is a member of the Hudson County Workforce Leadership Academy, Class of 2019-2020, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
