Jessica T. Mathews is Distinguished Fellow of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace where she served as president from 1997 -2015. She served in the Department of State, the National Security Council and as committee staff in the U.S. House of Representatives. She co- founded the World Resources Institute and directed research there. She writes widely on energy, resources and foreign policy. She is a board member of HanesBrands Inc, SomaLogic, a privately held proteomics company, and Harvard University. Dr. Mathews has published widely in newspapers and in scientific and foreign policy journals, and she has co-authored and co- edited three books. She graduated from Harvard, graduated magna cum laude from Radcliffe College, and holds a PhD in molecular biology from the California Institute of Technology and. She is a member of the Aspen Strategy Group.
