Joseph Curry

Chairman and CEO; Orbit Holdings LLC, Socrates Program

Joseph Curry is the Chairman and CEO of Orbit Holdings, LLC, a private equity advisory firm that makes catalytic investments in real estate, infrastructure, and cold storage and cold logistics systems. Most recently, Orbit and its partners are focused on deploying their cold storage and cold logistics platform – a sustainable energy efficient market-driven solution – to reduce food waste, improve food security, and proactively reduce the risks of pandemics arising within the food and logistics value chain. Quality energy-efficient refrigeration is essential to eliminating Live Animal Markets (“LAMs”) that contribute to animal to human pathogen spread (the source of pandemics – Covid-19, SARS, MERS, HIV AIDS, H1N7). Orbit and its partners’ patented cold technology platform is significant in addressing hunger (900 million people, 11.6% of the global population are defined by the UN as suffering from malnutrition) by reducing the USD $1.2 Trillion (1.6 BLN tons) of annual food waste that contributes to impairing ocean health, overfishing, 8% of global CO2 emissions, and millions of gallons of wasted clean water.

Mr. Curry has 36 years of experience in the investment and financial services industry, having served as a Managing Director of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc.  Mr. Curry received his B.A. Degree in Banking and Finance with a minor in Economics from Morehouse College.

Joseph Curry was born and raised in the Central San Joaquin Valley, in Fresno, California, and resides with his wife in New York City.
