Kris Erickson is an artist, activist, educator, and researcher based in Toronto. Initially trained as a studio photographer and community educator, Kris directed these distinct interests through an extended postsecondary career. He completed his PhD in Communication and Culture at Ryerson University and York University in 2015 with a SSHRC-funded dissertation exploring the varying roles that camera arts play in supporting artists and organizations developing community engaged practice across Toronto. Kris is a consultant, and currently teaches at Ryerson University in the Spanning the Gaps program and maintains a modest artistic practice, including an upcoming exhibition in Contact 2018.

Kris Erickson is a member of the Toronto Sector Skills Academy, Class of 2018, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
