Mara Perez has been working in collaboration with non-profit and business leaders for 20 years. Her services include program development, evaluations, and strategic plans.  Dr. Perez brings a new proposition with her think-tank minded initiative: LATINO FUTURES.  This project provides a futurist lens to enable businesses, philanthropy, non-profits, and government to envision success for themselves and society by tapping into, and investing in Latino talent.  LATINO FUTURES sees Latinos as a catalyst for national prosperity through a framework called “the Latino prosperity movement.”  Her inaugural Latino Futures Forum, entitled “The Future of Latino Philanthropy,” was on March 21st 2017 at Dominican University of California. Dr. Perez is a public speaker and an author, her writings appear in Stanford Social Innovation Review, Latin Business Today, MIT Press, and Revista Interamericana.  She writes about Latinos, socio-economic prosperity, immigration, and philanthropy.  In 1998, Dr. Perez earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from The University of Chicago.  She serves on Boards supporting Latino causes, and received the 2005 Spirit of Marin Award as Latino Business Person of the Year.  Dr. Perez was a fellow of the Coro Community Leadership Program, and last year participated in an executive leadership program at Stanford University about the science of decision-making. Participated in the Aspen Institute Forum on Latino Business Growth.
