Margrit Allen currently serves as the local Director for the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) where she oversees the program performance and day-to-day operations for the Wayne County, Michigan presence of the nation’s largest reentry workforce development organization. In addition to her leadership role with CEO, she also leads the work of MA Workforce Solutions, a workforce development consultancy that specializes in capacity building for training providers and nonprofit organizations. Margrit’s human service career launched with teaching in Detroit’s public schools and subsequently expanded to various school support and leadership roles; most notably serving as the Lead School Administrator for SER Learning Academy, an alternative vocational high school for older youth. While leading the alternative school at SER Metro Detroit, she also managed the operations of an Adult Education and Work Readiness program at the Ford Resource and Engagement Center in Southwest Detroit and coordinated the summer youth employment program. She is the product of Detroit’s finest public school, Cass Technical High School, holds degrees from Marygrove College and the University of Detroit Mercy, possesses Six Sigma Green Belt, Career Development Facilitator and Project Management Professional training. Margrit is a Legacy Detroiter, the parent of two sons, enjoys writing, and studies holistic medicine and astrology in her free time. She is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals.
Margrit Allen is a member of the Detroit Workforce Leadership Academy Class of 2020, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
