Mónica Vásquez del Solar (Lima, Peru) is the Portfolio Director for NESsT in the Andean Region. She is responsible for overseeing the Lima office and leading the overall strategy and implementation of social enterprises initiatives in the region. She was the Enterprise Development Manager at NESsT during 4 years, focused the portfolio of invention and innovation social enterprises in Peru. Also she has been working as researcher in Brazil, Ecuador and Peru regarding scaling social innovations and the national innovation systems in those countries from 2011 to 2012. During 2015 Monica has been working in a research regarding Social and Technological Capabilities for Social Inclusion in Latin America. Prior to joining NESsT, Monica spent six years planning, implementing, and monitoring business and social development projects in several regions of Peru. Monica has a Master’s degree in Economy and Innovation Management from “Universidad Autonoma de Madrid” (Autonomus University of Madrid) and a completed postgraduate studies in Agribusiness from “Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina” (National Agrarian University). She also holds a Bachelor of Engineering. (Participated in The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs Annual Conference in September 2016)
