Naiche Lujan

After developing a career in the entertainment industry and then sustainable tech, he returned to the arts and culture to pursue his passion for social entrepreneurship and philanthropy.

Naiche Lujan grew up in the progressive city of Santa Monica, CA, amidst the second wave of the Chicano art movement and as a member of one of its leading families. After developing a career in the entertainment industry and then sustainable tech, he returned to the arts and culture to pursue his passion for social entrepreneurship and philanthropy. His recent stewardship of his father’s legacy, the artist Magu (Gilbert Luján), has led to important exhibitions, including an entry featured in the Getty’s 2017 Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA. It has also deepened his connection to the local LA community via his leadership of arts-focused “Mental Menudo” discussion groups, a tradition initiated by Magu to foster examination of Chicano art ideas and promote artists’ self-awareness.

Selected to participate in the Program on Philanthropy & Social Innovation’s Artist-Endowed Foundation Leadership Initiative (AEFI) Seminar on Strategy for Artist-Endowed Foundation Leaders.
