Nancy Fenton

Weinberg Academy Fellow, Class of 2015, Economic Opportunities Program

Director of Development, Central Scholarship, Baltimore, MD

Nancy serves at the Director Development at Central Scholarship, a statewide organization dedicated to providing financial aid to people aspiring to vocational training, college, and post-undergraduate education. The vocational training scholarships are important to Baltimore City residents who are seeking to become employed in high-demand and stable jobs. The Academy helped Nancy to understand workforce systems and become a stronger advocate for funding this type of training. The Academy also strengthened Nancy’s ability to assess best practices and share that with Central Scholarship’s leadership and program team.

Nancy Fenton is a member of the Weinberg Sector Skills Academy Class of 2015, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.

The Workforce Leadership Academies are part of the Economic Opportunity Fellows Network, a network of leadership and fellowship programs run by the Aspen Institute Economic Opportunities Program. Within this Network, EOP connects national and local leaders from across sectors — nonprofit, government, business, philanthropy, academia, and more — to advance policies and practices with the potential to help low- and moderate-income Americans thrive in today’s economy.
